An election to recall Mayor James Grattelo was held on March 26, 1996, in Biddeford, Maine. Voters retained Grattelo.[1]
Recall vote
The Biddeford City Charter at the time the recall occurred required that 40% of voters who were registered at the time of the preceding municipal election vote in the recall election in order for the results to be valid. Grattelo was retained after 23% of registered voters from the previous election voted in the recall rather than the required 40%.[1]
