Campaign themes

2016

Kazounis' campaign website highlighted the following issues:

Small Business Help

I will fight hard to keep RI taxes competitive with tax rates in other states in our region. I will fight to remove unnecessary over-regulation which is intended to dampen competition, but fails to do important things like protect our natural resources. I will fight to make Rhode Island's business climate a place where businesses want to come because they can be successful here. We cannot afford as a state to continue bribing companies to come to our beautiful state.

A True Independent Voice

Career politicians in our legislature have a blatant disregard for the average working person. We are being nickel and dimed to death by a legislature more interested in keeping special interests happy than keeping you happy.

I am not interested in serving in the Senate to be a rubber stamp for the Senate President. My priorities as a Senator will be YOUR priorities. Far too many Rhode Island legislators care much more about pleasing legislative leadership than their constituents. My vow to you is to place your interests first.

My Vision for Rhode Island and the East Bay

-Outstanding educations for our kids and a growing economy.

-A legislature that is not destroying RI’s economy, but becomes a critical partner in creating an economic environment that allows businesses to flourish, instead of struggle.

-RI becoming a place where our natural beauty and resources is the icing on the cake to convince people and companies that RI is the place to settle down and prosper.

-A political environment where the issues and the merits determine political outcomes, not who you know.[1]
