James Kelley (Iowa)
James E. Kelley was a judge of the Seventh District of Iowa. He was appointed to this position in August of 1981.[1] He retired in 2011.[2]
Biography and Education
Kelley was born in Des Moines, Iowa. He received his B.A. degree from the University of Notre Dame in 1963 and his J.D. degree from the University of Iowa College of Law in 1966. He later received a Masters in Judicial Studies from the University of Nevada-Reno and the National Judicial College in 1993. He is now married and has two adult children.[1]
Career
Kelley began his career as a private practice lawyer, working with a law firm in Davenport from 1966 until his judicial appointment in 1981.[1]
