James H. Lambert was a judge for Division 2 of the Kentucky Court of Appeals 3rd Appellate District. He assumed office on January 1, 2007. He left office on January 31, 2026.

Lambert ran for re-election for the Division 2 judge of the Kentucky Court of Appeals 3rd Appellate District. He won in the general election on November 8, 2022.

Education

Lambert received his bachelor's degree from Eastern Kentucky University and his J.D. from Northern Kentucky University Salmon P. Chase College of Law.

Career

Lambert began his legal career with the law firm of Lambert & Lambert in Mount Vernon, Kentucky. In November 1981, he was elected Rockcastle County attorney. He held this position until 1994, when he returned to private practice. From 2002 to 2006, Lambert served as the trial commissioner for the Rockcastle County District Court and also served as an administrative law judge for the Kentucky State Department of Corrections.
