Green has practiced law as a defense attorney, plaintiff's attorney, prosecutor and a district and family court judge (for over thirteen years).[1]

Green ran for election to the 30th District Court.
Primary: He was successful in the primary on May 20, 2014, receiving 41.4 percent of the vote. He competed against Eric Haner and Charles J. Adkins.
General: He was defeated in the general election on November 4, 2014, after receiving 43.5 percent of the vote. He competed against Eric Haner. [2][3]

Green was defeated in his bid for election to the 30th District Court by incumbent Katie King on November 2, 2010.[4]

In a statement for the Courier-Journal, Green points to time and money as the most critical issues for the court. "More efficient use of the available space is urgent," he said.[1]
