I was born in Lexington, KY, and grew up in the 76th House District.

I am a lifelong Democrat and have volunteered for numerous Democratic campaigns. I coach diving, and serve on multiple committees to help with policy, rules, and regulations for swim and dive. I am actively involved in the community and supports many different organizations.

My family owns a small business- Palumbo Properties/Palumbo Lumber.
  • Public Education I am a graduate of Bryan Station high school, and was able to receive phenomenal/valuable instruction from the public school system. Being a high school dive coach now, I am an employee of multiple school systems. I see firsthand the needs of the schools, and know that more resources are desperately needed to meet those needs. I already have relationships established with administrators, teachers, and staff that are crucial to communicate and be the most effective to help our public education system. I am strongly opposed to charter schools and anything that takes funding away from our public schools. Our public schools need more funding, not less.
  • Access to Healthcare Put simply, the government should not come between a doctor and a patient’s medical care. Elderly Healthcare Affordability All of the elderly community should have access to the best healthcare possible without it being too expensive for them. Mental Health Help and Access I will be a voice for the community to help end the stigma surrounding Mental Health and work to get more resources available to those in need. Addiction and Recovery Addiction doesn’t discriminate and affects countless people. We need to stop criminalizing the addicts and treat the disease like we do with other diseases. Domestic Abuse I want to make sure we have enough resources available to everyone who needs it and knowing how to access it.
  • Racial Civil Rights We need to work on issues of: -Gentrification -Profiling -Healthcare -Redlining -Supports legislation to eliminate racial and economic bias -Supports legislation to eliminate race-based discrimination in policing, courts, and incarceration. -Supports legislation to eliminate race-based bias in education and schools. Fairness and Equality -As a Member of the LGBTQ+ Community, I stand up proudly in support of fairness and equality for all. -I support the Trans Community. I oppose the government involved with parents’ and doctors' decisions for their children’s healthcare. -I support civil rights legislation prohibiting discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation and gender identity and expression.

Compassion, Relatability, Relationships with people from all different backgrounds, cultures, religions, and political affiliation.
The first major historical event that I can vividly remember is the space shuttle Challenger explosion. We were sitting in my second grade classroom watching the liftoff and then saw the explosion in real-time. I was seven.
My first job was scraping plates at my church. I held the job for approximately three years, and worked my way up to the dishwasher.
My oldest brother's suicide, growing up being discriminated against because I'm gay, self-esteem, mental/emotional health, abusive relationships, addiction.
The governor and state legislature should work together in order to benefit all the citizens.
Partisan fighting is the biggest problem facing our government. There are serious issues that need to be addressed that aren't being met because of the lack of civility. The biggest challenge for the next decade is getting back to an atmosphere and culture that works together and is productive to help the residents.
It is definitely beneficial to have previous experience in government or politics, especially because of the relationships that have been built to be able to get more things accomplished. My mother has served in the KY Legislature for 34 years (she is the longest-serving woman in the history of the KY General Assembly. Because of that, I have organically built relationships with a huge number of elected officials, leaders in both of the major political parties in Kentucky, leaders in across several industries, and community activists. All of those relationships will help me be an effective elected official
Several- my mother (State Representative Ruth Ann Palumbo), Rep Keturah Herron, Sen Reggie Thomas, Sen Gerald Neal, Rep Derrick Graham, Rep Chad Aull, Rep Cherlynn Stevenson, Rep Lindsey Burke...
I am not interested in running for a different political office in the future. I grew up in the 76th KY house district, both sets of my grandparents lived very close to me in the 76th KY house district, I graduated from the public high school in the 76th KY house district (Bryan Station), I work at Bryan Station now, I have a lot of family and friends that live in the district. This district is home, and all the residents are like my family.
Stories of housing insecurity, food insecurity, cost of medical care/medication, lack of resources in our public education system, gun violence, and many other personal stories are especially impactful on me.
Emergency powers should stay with the governor. There isn't enough time when a natural disaster or other emergencies occur, for the legislature to take the time to call a special session, take more time to propose/debate/pass the legislation, and then get it to those who desperately need it.
