James Perdue
James Perdue is a former probate judge of Crenshaw County in Alabama.[1] He served from 2003 until 2015 when he was appointed commissioner of the Alabama Department of Mental Health by Gov. Robert Bentley.[2]
Perdue was a Republican candidate for Alabama Secretary of State in the 2014 elections. In April 2013, Perdue switched his party affiliation from Democrat to Republican.[3][4]

Perdue ran for election to the office of Alabama Secretary of State.[3] Perdue sought the Republican nomination in the primary on June 3, 2014.The general election took place on November 4, 2014.
