James Perkinson
James Perkinson was the Sleepy Hole Borough incumbent on the Suffolk School Board in Virginia. He
ran
against challengers Charles D. Leavell and David Mitnick in the general election on November 4, 2014. James Perkinson lost the general election on November 4, 2014. Perkinson was appointed to the board in May 2014 after board member Diane Foster resigned.[1] Perkinson also served on the board from 1996 to 2008.
Biography
Perkinson has his bachelor's degree from East Carolina University and his master's degree from Old Dominion University. Perkinson has 46 years of experience in education, having taught at the high school and at the community college levels. At the time of his tenure, Perkinson was an academic dean at Tidewater Community College.[2]

The November 4, 2014, general election in Portsmouth Public Schools featured five seats up for election. In the Chuckatuck race, incumbent Linda Bouchard faced challenger Dorothy Gamble. In the Cypress and Holy Neck races, incumbents Lorraine Skeeter and Enoch Copeland ran unopposed, respectively. In the Suffolk race, incumbent Michael Debranski faced challenger Thelma Hinton. The special election for the Sleepy Hole Borough featured Charles D. Leavell, David Mitnick and appointed board member James Perkinson.
Bouchard, Skeeter, Copeland, Mitnick and Debranski won election in their respective districts.
