James Q. Blomgren
James Q. Blomgren was the Chief Judge of the Eighth District of Iowa (serving in 8A). He was appointed to this court in 1998 and became Chief Judge in 2001.[1] He retired in the fall of 2012.[2]
Education
Blomgren was born in Des Moines, Iowa.
Education
Blomgren received his bachelor's degree from the University of Iowa in 1969, and his law degree from the University of Virginia in 1972.[1]
Career
Blomgren worked as an attorney for the U.S. Department of Agriculture for two years following his graduation from law school. He then worked as a private practiced lawyer from 1973 until 1998, when he was appointed to the District Court.[1]
