James R. Murphy is a judge of the Sixteenth Circuit Court (1st Subcircuit) of Illinois.[1] He was retained on November 4, 2014, for a term that expired on December 6, 2020.[2]

Murphy was retained to the Sixteenth Judicial Circuit Court with 77.6 percent of the vote on November 4, 2014. [2] 

Evaluations

The Illinois State Bar Association and participating attorneys rated James R. Murphy (Illinois 16th Circuit Court) as Recommended for retention in a 2014 poll.[3]

Education

Murphy earned a B.A. from the University of Illinois, going on to receive his J.D. from Southern Illinois University. He was admitted to the bar in 1981.[4]
