James R. Taylor is a judge for the Fourth Judicial District in Utah County, Utah.[1] Taylor was first appointed to this position in February 1999 by Governor Michael O. Leavitt.[2] He was retained in 2014 for a term that expires on January 3, 2021.[3]

2014

Taylor was retained to the Fourth District with 80.2 percent of the vote on November 4, 2014. [3] 

Performance evaluations

The Utah Judicial Performance Evaluation Commission, following a 2014 survey, recommended that Judge Taylor be Retained. The full report is available here.

Taylor was retained to the district court in November 2008.[4]

Education

Taylor received his J.D. from the University of Utah College of Law in 1980.[2]

Taylor is also an adjunct professor at Utah Valley State College.[2]
