James Roberson (Democratic Party) is a member of the North Carolina House of Representatives, representing District 39. He assumed office on January 13, 2021. His current term ends on January 1, 2027.

Roberson (Democratic Party) is running for re-election to the North Carolina House of Representatives to represent District 39. The Democratic primary for this office on March 3, 2026, was canceled.

On January 9, 2021, Wake County Democrats nominated Roberson to replace former District 39 Rep. Darren Jackson (D). Gov. Roy Cooper (D) formally appointed Roberson on January 11, 2021, effective January 13 of that year.[1]

Biography

James Roberson's career experience includes working as the senior dean and CCO of the Western Wake campus of Wake Technical Community College.[2] Prior to joining the state House, Roberson was the mayor of Knightdale, NC. He was elected to the position in 2015 and 2019.[1]
