James Roy Bean was a judge of the Third Circuit Court of Florida. He first served in this position from June of 1992 to January of 1993. He returned to the court in February of 1994 and served until his term expired in 2013. From 2002 to 2004, Bean served as chief judge.[1][2]

Education

Bean received his B.A. degree in Multidisciplinary Social Sciences from Michigan State University in 1970 and his J.D. degree from Wayne State University in 1973.[1]

Career

Bean began his career in 1974 as an Assistant Public Defender and private practice attorney in West Palm Beach. In 1977, he became an assistant state attorney for the 3rd Judicial Circuit. He worked in that capacity until he first joined the circuit court in 1992.[2]
