James E. Rzepkowski is the former acting Maryland secretary of labor, licensing and regulation. Gov. Larry Hogan (R) appointed Rzepkowski to the position in January 2019. He stepped down when Tiffany Robinson succeeded him as a permanent appointment.

Rzepkowski also served as assistant secretary for the Department of Labor, Licensing and Regulation’s Division of Workforce Development and Adult Learning.[1]

Biography

Rzepkowski began working as assistant secretary for workforce development in 2015. Prior to that, he served for eight years as the corporate director of workforce development at Constellation Energy Nuclear Group in Baltimore, Maryland. He served for three years as an assistant secretary with the Maryland Department of Commerce (then known as the Department of Business and Economic Development).[1]

Rzepkowski obtained a bachelor’s degree in government and politics with Phi Beta Kappa honors from the University of Maryland College Park.[1]

Political career

Gov. Larry Hogan (R) appointed Rzepkowski as acting Maryland secretary of labor, licensing and regulation in January 2019.[1]

Maryland House of Delegates (1995-2003)

Rzepkowski served for nine years in the Maryland House of Delegates, representing District 32.[1]
