James S. Heckerman

James S. Heckerman is a judge of the Fourth District of Iowa. He was appointed to this position in 1996.[1] He was retained in 2014 for a term that expires on December 31, 2020.[2]

Heckerman was retained to the 4th District with 64.2 percent of the vote on November 4, 2014. [2]
Education
Heckerman received his bachelor's degree from Iowa State University in 1972 and his J.D. from Creighton University in 1974.[1]
Career
Before becoming a district judge, Heckerman worked as a private practice lawyer, an assistant county attorney, and a public defender for Pottawattamie County. He was then appointed to the Fourth District in 1984 as a district associate judge.[1]
