James Schatz
James Schatz (b. May 31, 1940) was a Democratic member of the Maine House of Representatives. He represented the 37th District from 2004 to 2010. He has also served as a Selectman for the Town of Blue Hill for the past 15 years. In 2010, he ran for Maine State Senate, losing in the November 2 general election. Schatz ran in the 2012 election for Maine House of Representatives District 37.
Schatz is the Owner/Manager of Blue Hill Farm County Inn. He previously served as Program Administrator/Consultant for the Colorado Department of Labor and Employment/United States
Schatz is a member of the Blue Hill Memorial Hospital Board, Blue Hill Peninsula Chamber of Commerce Board, Healthy Peninsula Project Steering Committee, and Peninsula Area Team for Health.[1]

Schatz ran in the 2012 election for Maine House of Representatives District 37. Schatz lost against incumbent Ralph Chapman in the Democratic primary on June 12, 2012. Madeline Leach ran unopposed in the Republican primary. The general election took place on November 6, 2012.[2][3]

Schatz was defeated by Republican candidate Brian Langley in the November 2 general election. Democratic incumbent Dennis Damon was not eligible for re-election.[4]
In the June 8th primary election, Schatz defeated Lawrence Greenlaw Jr. by a margin of 2,084-1,542.[5]
