James Stockton
James Stockton (Democratic Party) is running for election to the U.S. House to represent Florida's 6th Congressional District. He declared candidacy for the 2026 election.[source]
Biography
James Stockton is a native of Columbus, Ohio. His career experience includes serving as the senior pastor of Greater New Hope Church in Ocala, Florida, and the presiding bishop of the Tabernacle of Praise International Church (TOPIC). He also served as the director of student and special programs at West Virginia State University.[1]
Stockton has been affiliated with the following organizations:[1]
- Marion County Florida Continuum of Care on Homelessness, chair of the board
- Marion County brand of the NAACP, former president
