James T. Hayden was a multi-bench judge of the county and surrogate's courts of Chemung County, New York. He began serving in this position in 1990, following his election. He was re-elected in 1999 and 2009.[1][2][3][4]

Hayden was also an acting justice of the Chemung County Supreme Court.[5]

Hayden retired in 2016 after reaching the mandatory retirement age of 70 years old.[6]

Education

Hayden received his B.A. degree from Belmont Abbey College and his J.D. degree from the Albany Law School.[7]

Career

Hayden worked as a Chemung County District Attorney prior to his judicial election. He joined the Chemung County surrogate's, county and family courts in 1990.[2]
