James Upchurch
James Upchurch (Republican Party) was a member of the Guilford County Board of Commissioners in North Carolina, representing District 6. He assumed office on December 7, 2020. He left office on October 2, 2023.
Upchurch (Republican Party) ran for election for North Carolina State Auditor. He did not appear on the ballot for the Republican primary on March 5, 2024.
Upchurch announced he was leaving the Democratic Party for the Republican Party on December 3, 2021, saying he'd "grown disillusioned with the Democrats during his first year on the board."[1]
Biography
James Upchurch obtained an undergraduate degree from East Carolina University and a graduate degree from the University of North Carolina at Pembroke. His professional experience includes working as a business professor.[2]

|After Southwest, he attended East Carolina University. James became the youngest ever graduate of East Carolina in 2015. At nineteen years old, he earned a Bachelor's Degree in Marketing. In 2019, he earned a Master's Degree in Business Administration from the University of North Carolina at Pembroke.
James began his professional career working in Corporate America. He is currently a Business Professor and Media Director.- Education - Every child should receive a quality education. That starts with approving a school construction bond and properly funding our public schools.
- Public Transportation - We need to expand our public transportation system so that everyone has access to jobs, educational opportunities, grocery stores, and child care providers.
- Livable Wage - I support a livable wage for all county employees. This includes, but is not limited to EMT's and School Support Staff.
