Campaign themes

2016

The following issues were listed on Veltmeyer's campaign website. For a full list of campaign themes, click here.

  • Healthcare: The Affordable Care Act, Obamacare, has been disruptive, expensive and confusing. The law incentivizes those employers that do not provide health benefits to shift full-time workers to part-time status to avoid the mandate, and the additional business cost.
  • Defense and national security: To safeguard our nation’s security, Congress must act decisively to correct the course taken by the Obama Administration. It is urgent that U.S. armed forces be modernized to meet our security commitments and threats we face.
  • Taxes, the budget...and too many regulations: Small business owners cite taxes and excessive government regulation as the impediments to growth of their companies. Congress should ease the burden on those businesses and thereby encourage growth and more employment.[4]
