Jamie Burke is a principal at Burke Consulting, a business and political consulting firm. Burke was also a member of Donald Trump's presidential transition team, a group of advisors tasked with recommending presidential appointments for the incoming administration.[1][2]
Career
In 1992, Jamie Burke worked on communications for former Secretary of Housing and Urban Development Jack Kemp and his Empower America organization.[3] After a year, Burke took up the role of director of external affairs for the Republican National Committee (RNC). Bush administration
In 2001, Burke began working under the George W. Bush administration. She started out as the White House liaison for the U.S. Department of Education. In 2004, she was appointed director of Congressional and public affairs with the U.S. Department of the Treasury, where she remained for less than a year. She next moved onto to acting as the White House liaison and director of outreach for the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.[4][1] She stayed in that position until 2009.[3]
Burke Consulting
In 2010, Burke founded Burke Consulting in Washington, D.C. She serves as the firm's principal. The firm specializes in both government and business consulting, including lobbying, outreach, networking, advocacy, event management, and staff recruitment.[3]
Mitt Romney
In 2012, Burke was appointed to then-Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney's transition team. She was the senior director of personnel.[4][3][1]
Donald Trump presidential transition team, 2016-2017
Burke was a member of Donald Trump's presidential transition team in his first presidential term. The transition team was a group of around 100 aides, policy experts, government affairs officials, and former government officials who were tasked with vetting, interviewing, and recommending individuals for top cabinet and staff roles in Trump's administration. She was tasked with recruiting transition staff.[2]
