I am a working parent, small business owner, and mom of three who has built her career on standing up to powerful institutions on behalf of women and families.
  • Like many of you, I watched in horror when news broke last month that the Supreme Court was moving towards overturning Roe v. Wade. If this report is correct, it is a betrayal of nearly 50 years of legal precedent, and will cause irreparable and unnecessary harm to women across this country. As your Congresswoman, I will co-sponsor and vote for the Women's Health Protection Act so the right to choose is fully codified.
  • In 2020, Republicans tried every dirty trick in the book to overturn the election and even participated in a violent insurrection. When that failed, they went back to their state houses and piece by piece started to dismantle the very foundations of our electoral system. Their goal is clear: to make it harder for Democrats, particularly black and brown voters and the poor, to cast their vote. If elected to the House, I will proudly co-sponsor the John Lewis Voting Rights Act and the For the People Act my first day in office. These two measures will help curb voter suppression, outlaw partisan gerrymandering of congressional districts and make federal campaign spending more transparent.
  • Union values are American values. They stand for good-paying, middle class jobs and serve as an important counterweight to the unprecedented power that corporate interests have accumulated over the past several decades. I firmly support the Protecting the Right to Organize (PRO) Act, which would guarantee the right to join a union to all workers and help prevent employers from interfering with their employees’ efforts to organize. Additionally, with the increase in infrastructure spending thanks to the Bipartisan Infrastructure Deal, I will be a voice in Washington D.C. to make sure those dollars are only spent employing American union labor.
It is no secret that these are tough times for NY's brand new 19th Congressional District - and for our nation as a whole. I do not need to tell you about rising fuel costs, or waiting months for a doctor’s appointment if you aren’t willing or can’t afford to travel two hours each way, or the fear in your child's eyes as they describe their latest active shooter drill. You know it because you have lived it. And as a mother of three boys, small business owner and farmer, I have lived it too.

The people of NY-19 deserve someone who understands these problems and tackles them head on. We need an advocate in Washington D.C. who can stand up to powerful institutions on behalf of women and families in order to bring about the positive change that we so desperately need. I have built a career on these very principles and have the experience to bring about this change.
