I grew up on a small farm just outside Silverton, OR, and have lived in the area for most of my life. I was an accelerated learner; reading from the age of three (3) and solving algebraic equations by first grade. This theme continued in my life as I entered college at the age of 15, where I not only thrived on the more challenging material, but also with the freedom to set my schedule. I eventually accumulated 144 credits there and an Associate's degree in Applied Science.

I spent five (5) years traveling the state, and the world, then settled back in my hometown to be near my family. I identify as a non-affiliated voter, but am a registered Democrat due to Oregon's closed primaries.

If you have any policy specific questions or concerns, please reach out to me as I'm happy to address the issues you care about.
I care very much for the conservation of the environment, the preamble to the United States Constitution and the Bill of Rights, education and apprenticeships, the economy and availability of jobs, and universal healthcare.

I believe businesses should have operational freedom, but not at the expense of unsafe work practices, unregulated pollution, or damaging socio-environmental effects on the surrounding community.
Teddy Roosevelt because he made the government work for the people, had a passion for the wilderness and created the first National Park, was well-read and corresponded more than any other President, and was an outspoken and intelligent person.

I also look up to the clever mind of Voltaire. He was a prolific writer, employed clever tools to convey his satire, and perhaps wrote the first piece of science-fiction with Micromegas, but I'm most familiar with his work on freedom of speech and freedom of religion.
A thriving economy and healthy environment for future Oregonians.
Yes, certainly when it comes to campaigning if the candidate also works for a living. There is a lot of busy-work to keep track of and most of it appears trivial at first glance. Unfortunately, I think more often than not, politicians lose their passion for change and rather than working for the people, they become complacent and only work to get re-elected. Mark Twain said that politicians and diapers need to be changed often, and for the same reason.
Recovering from the recent economic damage that COVID-19 has effected, and balancing that with the critical need to address climate change in a meaningful way so that future Oregonians will have a better economic outlook as climate change has already begun to affect Oregon industries.
I'm a strong believer in checks and balances between the state legislature and the governor, but not so much so that there is endless grandstanding and nothing gets accomplished. I want the government to work for the people rather than bickering amongst partisan lines.
