As a third generation Magna resident, I am proud to have called the West side home for the last 43 years. It is here I chose to raise my son and begin my career in real estate. My 20 years in the real estate industry has taught me the value of hard work. I have been witness to community success and have a unique perspective on the challenges that face continued West side growth. It is principles like support for local business, access to affordable and safe housing, and diverse education opportunities for our children that are the foundation of a robust Utah economy. As a small business owner, I believe it is imperative that we maintain a lower tax burden. As a member of the West side business community, I believe we deserve to be represented by individuals who understand our unique challenges and want to invest in our future. My decision to run for House District 22 is the result of years of community involvement. Like many parents, my community involvement began with a desire to ensure a quality education for my son. Elected to the Pleasant Green Elementary Community Council in 2005, I participated in the decision making process from budgets and school borders to after school programs and safe walking routes. My community involvement has continued from that time and left me with an important takeaway. On issues like education and economic growth, the West side is underrepresented. I want to be part of the solution to West side representation.[2] |
