Jan M. Adler was a federal magistrate judge for the United States District Court for the Southern District of California. He was sworn in to this position on July 8, 2003.[1] He retired on September 30, 2018.[2]

Education

Judge Adler graduated with a degree in American history and government from Cornell University. He then received his law degree from the Duke University School of Law in 1978.[1]

Career

After law school, Judge Adler joined the firm Jennings, Strauss & Salmon in Phoenix, Arizona. In 1982, he moved to San Diego and joined the firm Milberg, Weiss, Bershad, Hynes & Lerach, LLP. At the time of his judicial appointment in 2003, he was a partner in this firm.[1]
