Jan Shackelford is a judge of the First Circuit Court, Division F, in Escambia County, Florida. She was appointed by former Governor Jeb Bush in June of 2000 and was re-elected in 2008 and 2014.[1][2][3][4][5] Her current six-year term expires on January 4, 2021.[6]

Shackelford ran for re-election to the First Circuit Court.
As an unopposed candidate, she was automatically re-elected without appearing on the ballot. [5] 

Education

Shackelford received an undergraduate degree in English and history from Huntingdon College in 1985, going on to receive a J.D. from Florida State University College of Law. She later earned her M.A. degree from the University of West Florida.[2]

Career

Shackelford began her career at a law firm in Jacksonville, Florida before joining the state attorney's office in Pensacola as a prosecutor. After that, she worked with a Pensacola law firm until she was appointed to the circuit court in 2000.[2]
