Jane Barwick
Jane Barwick is a judge of the Georgia 5th Superior Court District Atlanta Circuit. Her current term ends on December 31, 2026.
Barwick ran for re-election for judge of the Georgia 5th Superior Court District Atlanta Circuit. She won in the general election on May 24, 2022.
Education
Barwick received her undergraduate degree from Wesleyan University and her J.D. from the University of Georgia School of Law.[1]
Career
Barwick practiced with the firms Hurt, Richardson, Garner, Todd & Cadenhead, and Swift, Currie, McGhee and Hiers as a private attorney. She also founded a law firm handling family law, including custody battles. In 2014, she was elected to the superior court.[1]

Selection method
There are 202 judges on the Georgia Superior Courts, each chosen by the people in nonpartisan elections to serve a four-year term.
The process for selecting a chief judge and that chief judge's term varies by circuit.[2]
Qualifications
To serve on this court, a judge must be:
- a state resident for three years;
- a resident of the circuit he or she is representing;
- admitted to practice law for at least seven years; and
- at least 30 years old.

Barwick ran for election to the Fulton/Atlanta Judicial Circuit.
General: She faced Shelitha Robertson and Shondeana Crews-Morris in the general election on May 20, 2014.
Because no candidate received more than 50% of the vote, Robertson and Barwick competed in a runoff election on July 22, 2014.
