Jane F. Kauvar was a superior court judge for the Fourth Judicial District in Alaska. She was appointed to this position by Gov. Sean Parnell on March 5, 2013. She won another a full six-year term in the retention election on November 8, 2016.[1] She retired on July 20, 2018.[2]

From 1981 until her elevation to the superior court, Kauvar had served as a district court judge.

Education

Kauvar graduated from George Washington High School in 1966 and attended Scripps College from 1966 to 1968. She received her Bachelor of Arts in 1970 from the University of Colorado and her J.D. from Boalt Hall School of Law in 1973.[3][4][5]

2010

Kauvar was retained to the district court in 2010.[7] The Alaska Judicial Council supported her retention.[8][9] She is up for retention again in 2016.
