Jane Murray was recalled from her position as the mayor of Portsmouth, Ohio, in a recall election that took place on December 7, 2010.[1]

Former Portsmouth Police Chief Tom Bihl was a leader in the recall effort. He said, "The basic reason I did it, was because the things she did right off the bat, in firing the department heads. She has not done anything good for the city yet."

Recall results

  • Votes to recall Murray: 1,978 Approveda
  • Votes to keep Murray: 1,145

Path to the ballot

1,148 signatures were required to trigger the recall. Recall organizers submitted 1,410 signatures.[2]
