Janet Berry was a judge on the Second Judicial District Court in Nevada. She was appointed to the court effective January 17, 1996.[1] Berry retired in April 2017.[2]

Biography

Berry received her undergraduate degree from California State University at Sacramento and her J.D. degree from Tulane University.[3]

Berry was admitted to practice law in Louisiana, California, and Nevada. Berry served as a law clerk at the U.S. District Court in the Eastern District of Louisiana and at the Nevada Supreme Court before entering the private practice of law with Davenport & Perry. Her private practice experience included trial, appellate, and administrative law. In 1992, she was appointed to the Reno Municipal Court. In 1996, Berry was appointed to the Second Judicial District Court and ran unopposed for a full term in 1997.[3]

She served as the chief judge of the Second Judicial District Court from 2000 to 2002.[3]
