Janet C. Malone is a judge for the Supreme Court 9th Judicial District in New York. She was elected in the general election on November 8, 2016.

Malone was a judge on the Westchester County Family Court from 2008 to 2016.[1]

Education

Malone received a bachelor's degree from Utica College of Syracuse in 1986 and a J.D. from City University of New York in 1989.[1]

Career

Prior to her judicial career, Malone worked as a New York County District Attorney, a solo practitioner in the counties of Bronx and Westchester, New York, a senior associate at a Westchester County law firm, and a support magistrate for the Westchester County Family Court. She joined the family court bench in 2008.[1]

New York held general elections for local judicial offices on November 8, 2016. A primary election was held on September 13, 2016. The filing deadline for candidates who wish to run in this election was July 14, 2016.[2] Incumbent Linda S. Jamieson, Janet C. Malone, and Thomas E. Walsh II were unopposed in the general election for three open seats on the New York Supreme Court 9th Judicial District.[3]

Malone ran for election to the New York Supreme Court 9th Judicial District. General: She was defeated in the general election on November 5, 2013, after receiving 9.8 percent of the vote. The candidates below were also on the ballot, competing for five open seats.
