Janet Everhard
Janet Everhard (Democratic Party) ran for election to the U.S. House to represent Ohio's 2nd Congressional District. She lost in the Democratic primary on May 8, 2018.
Everhard was a 2016 Democratic write-in candidate who sought election to the U.S. House to represent the 2nd Congressional District of Ohio.[1]
Biography
Janet Everhard lives in Ohio. She earned a B.F.A. in interior design from Arizona State University in 1974, a pre-medical degree from the University of California, San Diego in 1985, and an M.D. from the Loyola University Chicago Stritch School of Medicine in 1989. Everhard's career experience includes working as the president and a gynecologic physician and surgeon at her own practice, Women's Health Partnership Inc.
She founded the USA Works Community and volunteers as a mentor and event planner with Team River Runner, which states its goal as to "[give] active duty service members, veterans, and their families an opportunity to find health, healing, and new challenges through kayaking, whitewater boating, SUP and other paddlesports."[2][3]

Heading into the election, Ballotpedia rated this race as safely Republican. Incumbent Brad Wenstrup (R) defeated William Smith (D) and Janet Everhard (D write-in) in the general election. Wenstrup defeated Jim Lewis in the Republican primary. Smith defeated Russ Hurley and Ronny Harrison Richards in the Democratic primary on March 15, 2016.[1]
