Recall supporters had to submit 365 signatures, which equaled at least 10 percent of registered voters in the town. The petitions were not bound by a signature deadline, according to Town Clerk Liz Knox. If sufficient signatures were received by the Board of Selectmen, they would have scheduled an election within one week of receipt. The town's recall ordinance allows targeted officials to ask for a public hearing regarding a scheduled recall prior to the election.[1]
