Janie McKenzie-Wells is the family court judge for the Johnson, Lawrence and Martin Counties Family Court of the 24th Judicial Circuit, which presides over Johnson, Lawrence, and Martin counties in Kentucky.[1] She was elected to the court on November 7, 2006, and was re-elected without opposition in 2014.[2][3] Her current eight-year term expires on January 1, 2023.[4]

Education

McKenzie-Wells received her undergraduate degree from the University of Kentucky in 1983 and her J.D. from the University of Kentucky College of Law in 1986.[2][5]

Career

Before her election to the court, McKenzie-Wells worked as an attorney in private practice for over twenty years.[2]
