Janis Fullilove
Janis Fullilove (Democratic Party) was the Shelby County Juvenile Court Clerk in Tennessee. Fullilove assumed office in 2018. Fullilove left office on September 1, 2022.
Fullilove (Democratic Party) ran for election for Shelby County Juvenile Court Clerk in Tennessee. Fullilove won in the general election on August 2, 2018.
Fullilove was a member of the Memphis City Council in Tennessee, representing Super District 8 from 2008 to 2018.[1] She resigned from the office on November 26, 2018, to become Shelby County juvenile court clerk.[2]
Biography
Fullilove graduated from the Booker T. Washington High School of Excellence, going on to receive a bachelor's degree from Memphis State University and a master's in communication studies from the University of Memphis.
After teaching communication at the University of Memphis for 14 years, Fullilove began working as a radio talk show host with WREC and WHBQ. She became the first African American talk show host at WMC radio in 1994, where she later hosted a show bearing her name. She has also been the host of "What's on your Mind Line," a program on WDIA AM 1070.[1]

Fullilove and her husband, Vernon Chalmers, have two children and several grandchildren. She is a member of Brown Baptist Church.[1]
