I am an U. S. Army veteran and served two combat tours in Iraq. I am married with three children in Savannah-Chatham County Public Schools. After the Army I was a social worker for the Commonwealth of Kentucky. Now I work for the Georgia Division of Family and Children Services as a state office manager. I am very passionate and advocate for children and their families. I also believe all publicly funded agencies should be good stewards of the taxpayer’s moneys.
  • Savannah-Chatham County Public School System must prepare student to enter the workforce upon graduation. We need to understand that the workforce and economic needs are changing and our programs must continuously adapt to that change.
  • Savannah-Chatham County Public School System must strive to provide and promote the highest educational opportunities for all students. This can all be done by maintaining and enforcing high standards and accountability from the Superintendent to the part time substitute teacher.
  • Savannah-Chatham County Public School System must be good stewards of Chatham County taxpayer’s money. We must ensure that public funds are returned to the classroom as much as possible to improve outcomes and inspire learning. Fiscal responsibility needs to a priority.
As someone who has made a career out of advocating for children and a proud parent of three young children in the Savannah-Chatham County Public School System, I have an expectation that our school system will provide an excellent public education no matter what zip code they live in. I am running to be your School Board Representative because I value public education and know the change that it can bring to a child, family, and community. I promise to work with parents, teachers, and all of the community to ensure every voice is heard. I am a proud resident of Chatham County who chooses to raise my children here and help the next generation.
The board is responsible for guiding the budget and establishing spending priorities. The board should work with all stakeholders to improve student achievement.

I see the board as a liaison between the district and the families/community. We need to be available and open to communication whether that is for acclaim or criticism. The board is also responsible for writing polices and holding the Superintendent and the staff for proper implementation accountable. The board is responsible for having a balanced budget and ensure that money is spent where it is needed most.
Chatham County students, parents, teachers, staff and tax payers.
Board members are members of the community. They have children in the public schools and are actively engaged and aware of challenges facing schools today. Board members are open and transparent as well as responsive.
I want to prepare students for whatever path they chose when they graduate high-school. We have students that will go onto a four year school, we have students that will go to technical school, we have students that want to learn a trade in a vocational high school so that they can start earning at graduation, and we have students that join our armed forces – Go Army. We need to be flexible and adapt to our economy and the needs of our community/students.
When there are public comments, it is board policy to not respond. The board always promises to answer the speaker’s questions in a follow-up email. That leaves the rest of the community wondering what the answers. To promote transparency, the district should have a section on their website or board docs they do post it there where they post questions and answers brought up at meetings. Board members need to host town halls we did this pre-covid and actively engage with the community.
