My name is Jason Allevato and I am running for State Representative in Ohio’s 4th District.

Growing up in Pickerington, I embraced the values of diligence and hard work early on, delivering newspapers and working at a grocery store. I earned an academic scholarship to the University of Virginia, where I studied economics and political philosophy. My professional journey began in the U.S. Department of Commerce under President George W. Bush, followed by both law and business schools, again at UVA.

My career path led me to McKinsey & Company, where I advised Fortune 100 corporations. This role set the stage for my transition to an investment firm and eventually, founding my own company focused on owning and revitalizing small businesses in Appalachia, creating numerous jobs and stimulating economic growth. In my local community, I am actively involved in the chambers of commerce and leadership initiatives, holding positions on several boards.

My wife Courtney and I reside in New Albany, and our most fulfilling responsibility is raising our three (almost four!) children in a happy, healthy, Christian home, and instilling in them the same values with which we were raised.

Our community is a wonderful place to raise children and call home, and deserves a strong advocate. As a resident with a vested long-term interest in Ohio's 4th District, I am dedicated to fostering a business-friendly climate while ensuring that this economic "rising tide lifts all boats"
  • Securing our Safety:   Rising local crime threatens our families and our businesses. Let's support and empower our police, address recruitment challenges, and resist policies that compromise safety.  In this era of rapid immigration, we should prioritize respect for the rule of law, increase focus on adult mental health issues, and promote rehabilitation in a manner that does not compromise public safety or deterrence, all with a goal of ultimately reducing recidivism.
  • Preserving Quality of Life: Accelerating growth creates both opportunities and risks. In the midst of these unprecedented chagnes, our district demands a strong, business-friendly long-term focused community advocate to ensure that this "rising tide" of rapid economic development indeed lifts all boats", while simultaneously maintaining what makes our community a wonderful place to live and raise a family.
  • Empowering the Future: Early childhood education is key for academic success and family prosperity. Let's prioritize educational access, and advocate for responsible technology use for minors and in schools
Public safety, affordability (i.e., minimizing the negative impact of inflation and high interest rates, especially as it pertains to housing), educational access and quality, public infrastructure (roads, water, sewer, power, high-speed internet), technology, workforce development
Civility, Humility, Empathy, Accessibility, Wisdom, Intellectual Curiosity, Open-Mindedness, Willingness to Compromise, Courage, Extensive Private Sector Experience, Independence from Interest Groups, Treating elected office as public service rather than as a career.
Extensive private sector experience, public service orientation, long-term focus, vested personal interest in the issues at hand, political outsider, willingness to embrace the "best" ideas regardless of their genesis, practical problem solving experience in the real world, extensive history of bringing together diverse and competing stakeholders in respect of a larger common goal; willingness to admit error and change course when necessary or in the presence of additional information, diverse and extensive academic background
To protect and defend the Constitutions of the United States and the great state of Ohio. To represent the will of the people of Ohio's 4th District.
I would like my children to be proud of the work that I have done
I remember watching the space shuttle Challenger explode on live national TV during my kindergarten class in Pickerington when I was 5 years old. I didn't understand what was happening at the time, but I remember the audible gasps and unease from my teachers thereafter.
Paperboy. I delivered the Pickerington Times-Sun for a number of years beginning in middle school, when I was around 12. It was a donation-based publication, so I remember making the conscious decision to walk around and collect payment on Saturday afternoons in the fall when Ohio State had an away game against an easy opponent, since everyone was both home and in a good mood - this resulted in much better tips! I have held paid employment consistently ever since then, including while attending school full-time.
I believe that the greatest challenge that the residents of Westerville, Gahanna. Blacklick and New Albany face over the next decade is managing the economic growth in a manner that both maintains the character of our community while blunting the negative impacts of inflation and high interest rates on individuals and families.
The government works for the people, not vice versa. As such, financial transparency and government accountability are paramount.
