Jason Boyd completed Ballotpedia's Candidate Connection survey in 2019. The survey questions appear in bold and are followed by Boyd's responses.
What would be your top three priorities, if elected?
Student focused education. Economic growth and development with a focus on coastal industries, ports, and harbors. Fiscal responsibility.
What areas of public policy are you personally passionate about?
So many areas of policy are intricately woven together, but I'd have to say effective education. It is important that we gauge our successes by the quality of education that students receive, and that we continue to raise that standard.
What qualities do you possess that you believe would make you a successful officeholder?
I have the perspective to look at issues from differing points of view (including the larger picture), the knowledge to understand those views, the compassion to respect them, the foundational principles to stand firm on, the passion and drive to work for what is best for my constituents, and the integrity to be honest through it all.
What do you believe are the core responsibilities for someone elected to this office?
The core responsibility is to the oath of office, to the US and State Constitutions. A responsibility that I a running to correct is communication. There is a responsibility to represent the people and that must include open communication.
If you are not a current legislator, are there certain committees that you would want to be a part of?
Wildlife, Fisheries and Parks. Ports and Marine Resources. Education. Veterans and Military Affairs.
