Jason Brinkley
Jason Brinkley was a judge of the Cooke County Court in Texas. He left office on December 20, 2020.
Brinkley (Republican Party) ran in a special election to the Texas House of Representatives to represent District 68. He lost in the special general election on January 23, 2021.
Brinkley was elected to the court in November 2014, taking the seat vacated by retired Judge John O. Roane. Brinkley was sworn in on January 1, 2015.[1][2]
Biography
Prior to taking the Cooke County Court bench, Brinkley served as the Cooke County justice of the peace.

A special election for Texas House of Representatives District 68 was called for January 23, 2021. A general runoff election was scheduled for February 23, 2021. The candidate filing deadline was January 4, 2021.[3][4]
The seat became vacant after Drew Springer (R) won a special election to Texas State Senate District 30 on December 19, 2020.

Brinkley ran for election to the Cooke County Court.
Primary: He was successful in the Republican primary on March 4, 2014, receiving 49.0 percent of the vote. He competed against Aaron Smith and Byron R. Berry.
Runoff: Because no candidate received more than 50% of the vote, Brinkley faced Berry in a runoff election on May 27, 2014. Brinkley won, earning 59.0% of the vote.
General: He won without opposition in the general election on November 4, 2014.

Brinkley was re-elected to the Cooke County Justice of the Peace Court after running unopposed.[7]
