Ballotpedia also asked the candidate a series of optional questions. Jason Cvancara answered the following:

Who do you look up to? Whose example would you like to follow and why?

For one, my Father. He has been such an awesome role model for me my entire life. I also look up to people who have faced adversity and managed to fight through it to become successful.[6]
What characteristics or principles are most important for an elected official?
The Air Force core values are integrity first, service before self and excellence in all we do. I believe these three are very fitting for all elected officials. Kind of hard to go wrong if one follows these three.[6]
What do you believe are the core responsibilities for someone elected to this office?
The core responsibilities for this position and many others similar to it are to ensure people, their rights and their property are protected.[6]
What was your very first job? How long did you have it?
When my Dad was stationed at Offutt Air Force Base in Nebraska, I delivered papers for the Papillion Times. I was and still am a news junkie so it was a perfect fit.[6]
What is your favorite holiday? Why?
Christmas. It is a day that always reminds me of what is truly important.[6]
What is your favorite book? Why?
I have a bunch of them but the one that usually gets the vote for being my favorite is Where the Red Fern Grows. So many lessons learned from this book.[6]
If you could be any fictional character, who would you be?
Superman for obvious reasons.[6]
What is your favorite thing in your home or apartment? Why?
When I was 18, I joined the Air Force and my first duty station was at Aviano Air Base in Italy. I was beyond homesick and one day I saw a United States flag in the Base Exchange and bought it since it reminded me of home. Since then, I have taken it with me everywhere to places such Europe and the Middle East. It now hangs honorably in my office.[6]
What was the last song that got stuck in your head?
She wore a Raspberry beret...and it's now probably stuck in your head. Sorry.[6]
Do you believe that it’s beneficial for holders of this office to have previous experience in government or politics?
No, but one should at least have a general understanding of how politics and government function.[6]
What kind of skills or expertise do you believe would be the most helpful for the holders of this office to possess?
Knowing and understanding all the various aspects of what makes up our community is key and my service with the Department of Justice and as a Police Officer has given me this experience. Serving in the military also exposed me to so many different customs and cultures which also makes me well suited for this role.[6]
