The signature filing deadline for candidates wishing to run in this election was April 22, 2014. Jasper Catanzaro defeated Jason Dorsch in the Democratic primary. Kathy Crawford defeated Dan Lauffer in the Republican primary. Crawford defeated Catanzaro in the general election.[4][5][6][7]
