Jason Ellis is a judge for the Smith County Court at Law in Texas. He was elected on November 4, 2014, effective January 1, 2015, for a term that expires on December 31, 2018.[1]

Ellis ran for election to the Smith County Court at Law.
Primary: He was successful in the Republican primary on March 4, 2014, receiving 29 percent of the vote. He competed against Mike Patterson (Texas), James Huggler and Brent Ratekin.
Runoff: Because no candidate received more than 50% of the vote, Ellis faced Patterson in a runoff election on May 27, 2014. He won, earning 62.4% of the votes cast.
General: He won without opposition in the general election on November 4, 2014.
