2016

Lowe's campaign website highlighted the following issues:

  • Reconnecting God and Early Education: I will propose a bill that allows children and their parents to decide if they would like to pray at the beginning of each day. No one is forced to pray but the option should be reintroduced and the rights of those that choose to pray should be protected.
  • Economic Development & Improvement Incentives for Local Business Owners: I will propose a bill that allows for tax incentives to small business owners to help improve the overall service plan, product and building cosmetics in order to better serve our community, city and state.
  • Responsible and smart Policing: Innocent people fall prey and victim to improper police practices (whether intentional or by accident). We need a system in place that encourages and holds accountable those responsible for establishing and monitoring proper police practice.
  • Rehabilitation not Incarceration for Non-Violent/Non-Trafficking Drug Offenders: I will propose a bill that ensures lighter sentencing and possible probation for 1st time non-violent, non-trafficking drug offenders. Drug Abuse is a major issue in our community. It’s unfortunate but true. Another hard truth is that our children, community and future are paying a heavy price as a result.
  • Encourage More Support in Educational Funding for Langston University: There are so many sources of income to help support educational funding in and outside our community. I want to develop key relationships with community leaders, corporate moguls and financial institutions to help bring more educational funding to Langston University.[5]

Scorecards

See also: State legislative scorecards and State legislative scorecards in Oklahoma

A scorecard evaluates a legislator’s voting record. Its purpose is to inform voters about the legislator’s political positions. Because scorecards have varying purposes and methodologies, each report should be considered on its own merits. For example, an advocacy group’s scorecard may assess a legislator’s voting record on one issue while a state newspaper’s scorecard may evaluate the voting record in its entirety.

Ballotpedia is in the process of developing an encyclopedic list of published scorecards. Some states have a limited number of available scorecards or scorecards produced only by select groups. It is Ballotpedia’s goal to incorporate all available scorecards regardless of ideology or number.
