Jason Powers is managing partner of Guidant Strategies, a public relations and campaign consulting firm specializing in the passage of conservative issues and the election of conservative candidates. He has been managing partner since 2006.[1] In a January 2014 profile, Robert Gehrke of The Salt Lake Tribune called Powers "Utah's top political kingmaker."[2]
Career
Jason Powers was on the campaign staff for then-Utah state representative John Swallow (R) in Swallow's unsuccessful 2002 bid for Utah's 2nd Congressional District against Democrat Jim Matheson. In 2006, he worked on Republicans Wayne Niederhauser's and John Greiner's Utah State Senate campaigns. In 2008, he was campaign manager for Republican Mark Shurtleff's successful re-election campaign for Attorney General of Utah.[2] In 2010, Powers worked for Club for Growth in the Republican United States Senate primary in support of Mike Lee against incumbent Bob Bennett. Lee won the primary and general election. Powers also did direct mail work for Governor of Utah Gary Herbert (R) in 2010.

In 2012, he was hired to provide media content for U.S. Sen. Orrin Hatch's successful re-election campaign. Also, in 2012, he was campaign manager for Republican John Swallow's successful bid for Attorney General of Utah.
In 2012, Powers was named to the list of Top 500 Influencers in American Politics by Campaigns & Elections Magazine.[4]
