Rogers was a 2014 Republican candidate for District 68 of the Ohio House of Representatives. He was defeated by incumbent Margaret Ruhl in the Republican primary.

Elections for the Ohio House of Representatives took place in 2016. The primary election was held on March 15, 2016, and the general election was held on November 8, 2016. The candidate filing deadline was December 16, 2015. Incumbent Margaret Ruhl (R) did not seek re-election because of term-limits.

Rick Carfagna defeated John Russell in the Ohio House of Representatives District 68 general election.[5]

Elections for the Ohio House of Representatives took place in 2014. A primary election took place on May 6, 2014. The general election was held on November 4, 2014. The signature filing deadline for candidates wishing to run in this election was February 5, 2014. R. Joyce Skocic was unopposed in the Democratic primary, while incumbent Margaret Ruhl defeated Jason Rogers in the Republican primary. Randy Miller ran as an Independent candidate. Ruhl defeated Skocic and Miller in the general election.[8]
