Prior to his appointment to the Maryland Public Service Commission in 2018, Stanek served as senior counsel to the Energy Subcommittee of the U.S. House of Representatives’ Committee on Energy and Commerce. Before that, he served in senior positions at the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission for 16 years. Stanek also previously worked with the National Fuel Gas Company in Buffalo, New York, and the Commodity Futures Trading Commission in New York, New York.[1]

Maryland Public Service Commission (2018-2023)

Gov. Larry Hogan (R) appointed Stanek as chairman of the Maryland Public Service Commission beginning on July 1, 2018.[1] Stanek succeeded W. Kevin Hughes as chairman. He stepped down on June 30, 2023. [2]
