Career
Jason Thielman, a Montana native, began his career as a marketing officer with Union Bank and Trust. However, by 2001, Thielman was serving as chief of staff under former Montana Secretary of State Bob Brown (R).[1] While working under Brown, between 2003 and 2005, Thielman was on the board of directors of the University of Montana Alumni Association.[2]
In 2005, Thielman became the assistant vice president of Greystone and Company, a New York-based property management and financing firm.[2] In 2007, Thielman served as the district director for the U.S. House.[3] Thielman, also in 2007, was the president of JET Financial Services; he was president for the firm for six years.[2]
Thielman took up the position of vice president for Wiland Direct, a Colorado-based marketing firm, in 2009.[1] He remained with Wiland until 2012, when he served as campaign chairman for Steve Daines (R-Mont.). Daines was running for U.S. House at the time.[2] After Daines' victory, Thielman stayed on and served as the congressman's chief of staff. In 2015, after Daine's successful bid for the U.S. Senate, Thielman continued his role as chief of staff.[4]
In 2013, Thielman was named one of the top 500 influencers by Campaigns and Elections magazine, which highlighted his roles in Brown's and Daines' campaigns.[5]
