Jason is currently serving as the Mayor of River Heights, Utah. He has a passion for public service and graduated with his bachelor’s degree in History and Political Science from Brigham Young University in 2006. Jason went on to receive his Master of Public Administration degree from Brigham Young University in 2010.
Jason is an entrepreneur and has started numerous businesses throughout his life beginning with a used and rare book business which he operated throughout his college years. After completing his master’s degree, Jason helped to start and grow Fox Pest Control which is headquartered in Logan, Utah. Through his hard work and dedication, he helped to grow Fox Pest Control to be the 14th largest pest control company in the nation. Jason was instrumental in creating nearly 2,000 jobs throughout his time at Fox, with hundreds of these being in Cache Valley.
With various business partners, Jason also owns and operates multiple other businesses including an auto repair shop, other home services companies, and a real estate investment company.
In Jason’s free time, he can often be found working in the yard with his kids, photographing wildlife, and finding new books to add to his collection.- Economy: I’ll advocate for policy that fosters a business-friendly environment. I want to create jobs, remove ineffective taxes, reduce regulation, promote free-market solutions, and expand job creation. I'll support small businesses by focusing on workforce deployment, energy independence, and technology for economic growth.
- Affordable Housing: For decades, Utah has experienced unprecedented growth. This growth, soaring inflation, and high interest rates has caused the dream of home ownership to slip away from many. To tackle these issues, it's crucial that government initiatives support, rather than hinder, solutions, avoiding regulations or procedures that could worsen the housing crisis.
- Water Policy: I am committed to finding a balance between agricultural and urban water needs in our community. I advocate for local control, market-based solutions, and infrastructure investments. I will protect private property rights, and create systems for voluntary conservation.

Scorecards
A scorecard evaluates a legislator’s voting record. Its purpose is to inform voters about the legislator’s political positions. Because scorecards have varying purposes and methodologies, each report should be considered on its own merits. For example, an advocacy group’s scorecard may assess a legislator’s voting record on one issue while a state newspaper’s scorecard may evaluate the voting record in its entirety.
Ballotpedia is in the process of developing an encyclopedic list of published scorecards. Some states have a limited number of available scorecards or scorecards produced only by select groups. It is Ballotpedia’s goal to incorporate all available scorecards regardless of ideology or number.
Click here for an overview of legislative scorecards in all 50 states. To contribute to the list of scorecards, email suggestions to editor@ballotpedia.org.
