Javar Juarez currently serves as the Senior Director of the Broad River Business Alliance, a not-for-profit entity dedicated to supporting small businesses in Richland County, South Carolina. In addition, he holds the position of Executive Director for the BRBA's Allied Partnerships Council. Under his leadership, this council collaborates with notable organizations such as the AARP Foundation and the Google Foundation, providing training for seniors in technology, nurturing young entrepreneurs, and assisting them in creating beneficial products and services for the community. Notably, the Allied Partnerships division has orchestrated over 120 community events, boosting small business visibility, and promoting local tourism, especially regarding the scenic Broad Riverbanks. Beyond his professional pursuits, Javar has been an active political figure. He also serves as the President of the Kingswood Precinct for the South Carolina Democratic Party and has been pivotal in expanding the democratic electorate in the state. Renowned as an inspirational figure, Javar guides young adults towards entrepreneurship and champions opportunities for individuals with challenging backgrounds. His commitment to the anti-poverty movement in Richland County is evident. After the tragic loss of six young black men to violence in the Broad River District, Javar spearheaded the Broad River Communities Prayer Walk initiative. This 7.5-mile journey serves as a unified stand against gun violence.
  • The time has come for the community to come into real power. We have been waiting a long time for leadership that is willing to challenge the status quo and stand up to systems that make it hard for us to succeed. I have been on the front lines as one of South Carolina’s most ambitious data analysts and community activists working to confront complacent leaders, toxic industries, and oppressive policies that make it difficult for families to unite and have stable housing for both mother and father.
  • I have the working knowledge to help us build housing, open small businesses, create jobs, fund community programs that support our veterans, seniors, youth and young adults and both parents. Our communities are devoid of art, music, culture, and outlets for true self expression and emotional release and NOW is the time to BRING IT BACK TO THE VILLAGE!
  • I am going to challenge every system that is designed to keep us isolated, and disconnected from each other, our ideas, talents and innovation. I am going to continue connecting all of us to private sector investments that help us manufacture our own products and offer services resulting in more money staying in our district.
I am deeply committed to ensuring equity for all South Carolinians. The erosion of freedoms and attempts to reshape our education system, especially by censoring books and reframing America's historical narrative, is concerning. It's vital to promote a diversified, competitive, and transparent infrastructure, particularly in our State's Transportation Division. Current inefficiencies and lack of robust oversight in the sector necessitate my analytical skills for improved infrastructure. The judiciary system also needs immediate attention. Grassroots calls for justice underscore the need for equitable law enforcement and investments to combat crime through poverty alleviation. The over-representation of people of color in prisons, exploited by a privatized system, must end with our generation.
