Jay Knight is a judge of the Liberty County Court in Texas. He was elected in 2014, effective January 1, 2015, for a term that expires on December 31, 2018.[1]

Knight ran for election to the Liberty County Court.
Primary: He was successful in the Republican primary on March 4, 2014, receiving 34.5 percent of the vote. He competed against incumbent Craig McNair and Todd M. Fontenot.
Runoff: Because no candidate received more than 50% of the vote, Knight faced McNair in a runoff election on May 27, 2014. He won, earning 50.4% of the votes cast.
General: He won without opposition in the general election on November 4, 2014.
